Maple Glazed Bacon
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top.
- 2
In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup, brown sugar, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
- 3
Arrange the bacon strips in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they don't overlap.
- 4
Brush half of the maple glaze generously over the bacon strips.
- 5
Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven and flip each bacon strip carefully.
- 6
Brush the remaining glaze over the flipped bacon and return to oven.
- 7
Continue baking for 8-10 more minutes until the bacon is crispy and the glaze has caramelized to a deep amber color.
- 8
Remove from oven and let cool on the rack for 2-3 minutes before serving - the glaze will continue to crisp up as it cools.
Chef's Note
"This sweet and savory bacon transforms your breakfast table with its irresistible caramelized crust. The hint of cayenne adds just enough warmth to balance the maple sweetness - trust me, you'll never go back to plain bacon again!"
