In a medium saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt

Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring once to prevent sticking

As soon as it boils, reduce heat to the lowest setting and cover tightly with the lid

Let the rice simmer undisturbed for exactly 15 minutes - do not lift the lid
